FIA F3: Zandvoort, Rd.8
Jonny continues his excellent drive for fitness and success taking 4th and 9th.
Jonny: “Practice went pretty well and the pace and balance seemed quite good,” he explained. “In Qualifying the car felt pretty good and I was P5 after the second run with some time to find in a few places. Then on the last run there was a Red Flag and a few people had already improved their lap time and that was the session end, so I ended up P8. Race 1 I started P5 and made one place around the outside of T3 on lap 1. After this we were just stuck in a DRS train and it was impossible to overtake anyone.”
“Race 2 I had quite a good start and I managed to make one place. Then on one of the Safety Car restarts I got up to P6. Then I made a mistake in T3 when I didn’t defend from the car behind and I had to brake to not be pushed off. So I lost 2 places and then 2 laps later Jak managed to pass me as he was very fast. After this I got close a few times to the car ahead but overtaking wasn’t possible.”
