Edgar leads the Championship
ADAC F4 Championships, Rd.3, 19/20 September 2020
Edgar heads points
Jonny Edgar, scored 3rd in Race 1, and a 4th in Race 2. Sadly no points in Race 3 due to an unfortunate puncture, which ultimately resulted in 17th by the drop of the chequered flag. However, Jonny retains his championship lead with a total of 136 points after 9 of 21 races.
“Not an awful weekend,” explained Edgar. “Unlucky with the puncture in Race 3, so happy only to lose 8 points to the nearest person in the championship. Still leading so that’s good. Also Race 2 was a bit unlucky, our brakes are really good, we can brake later than anyone and on the second lap I got caught out going into the hairpin. I was coming from a bit further back and caught him a lot going in, so had to go on the grass to avoid him and lost a lot of places, dropped to 8th. But then got back to 4th by the finish so that was pretty good considering what happened.”
“Then today on the second lap, had contact, got a puncture and had to pit. Went out again but was out of the points. It was very close all weekend. In Qualifying P3 to P12 was less than 2 10ths, it was all very close through the races. I enjoyed it and I am looking forward to going back to the Nürburgring in a few days.”
