2026 IMSA Preview

BRDC Superstars driver Jonny Edgar will return to the IMSA Endurance Cup in 2026 with AO Racing, joining teammates Dane Cameron and PJ Hyett for a second consecutive season. Christian Rasmussen will also join the team for the opening round, the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The trio enjoyed a strong 2025 campaign, highlighted by a podium finish at the Six Hours of The Glen in June. Jonny’s consistency and pace also played a key role in securing AO Racing the overall IMSA LMP2 Teams’ Championship title this year.

In addition to his Endurance Cup commitments, Jonny made a one-off appearance at the Long Beach Grand Prix in AO Racing’s distinctive “Rexy” Porsche 911 GT3, where he and Laurens Vanthoor took an impressive victory. His performances across both programs have cemented his place within the AO Racing family, as he prepares to aim even higher with the team’s striking “Spike The Dragon” LMP2 entry next season.

“Gunnar Jeannette, our team principal, said it best: if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it! I thoroughly enjoyed this season racing in IMSA with the AO Racing team and I’m excited to be back for 2026. I learned a lot throughout the season and I am hopeful we can achieve more podiums and wins together in the IMSA Endurance Cup and have a strong Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.”

Preparations for the 2026 IMSA season are already well underway, with Jonny and the team completing an extensive test at Daytona last week. The productive, trouble-free outing provided valuable data and momentum ahead of the Roar Before the 24 test from 16-18 January, which sets the stage for the opening round of the IMSA Endurance Cup.
